THE WRITER'S JOURNEY

Broadcasting,
fiction, and a
new journey

His career began with a prize at the legendary TBC television drama competition in 1979, followed by awards from MBC and other broadcasters.

In January 1981, his first long-form manuscript won the inaugural Novel Literature competition. Publication, a second novel contract, and a third serial novel followed.

From 1985 to the autumn of 2004, he worked without pause as one of Yeouido's busiest radio writers, while continuing to write television specials and fiction.

A writer enters broadcasting

After winning the legendary TBC television drama competition, KIM KWANG SOO received successive newcomer awards from MBC and other broadcasters.

First Novel Literature Prize

His manuscript won the inaugural Novel Literature long-form fiction competition, leading to publication and further novel commissions.

A return through radio

A chance encounter brought him back to broadcasting. He would write radio drama and documentary continuously for the next twenty years.

Stories heard beyond Korea

His works received ABU recognition in Auckland, Seoul, and Hong Kong, as well as the Grand Prix at Radio France in Paris.

Korean Broadcasting Writers Award

He received the Korean Broadcasting Writers Award and wrote numerous winners of Korea's leading broadcasting prizes.

Departure and return

After living abroad from 2004, he returned to Korea in 2024 and began a new journey—meeting readers in the online world.
